Slimmers World - Body Former Experience

The Body former is a 45 minutes treatment that was included in my package in their Biometrics Program. I still remember when I first tried it. I did this treatment on the Festival Mall Alabang branch of Slimmer's World. I was lead to a room with subdivided cubicles found at the back of the Ladies Locker Room. The lady attendant ask me to remove my clothes except the undies and lie down at the bed with towel to cover my body. When she came back, there was a machine that was ushered in the room. The machine is rectangular in shape with 8 connector pads. Only 2 target areas can be accomodated to do this treatment. As for me, I requested to have it done on my tummy area and the thigh area. Each connecter pad is covered with a wet yellow cloth and placed on the target muscle. A harness strap is used to keep these connectors in place. The treatment starts with only 1 target area and the attendant asks me if I could tolerate the level of electricution massage. I called it electricution massage because it really does feel that electricity is massaging my muscle. The next target area is started as soon as I get used with the first area. Then the Lady attendant leaves me. She'll be back after 45 minutes. It's a consistent rhythm of electricution massage for the first 30 minutes. It's actually hard for me to sleep. On the 30th minute until the 35th minute, the Electricution massage rhythm is now changed. The electricution feeling will flee for a while then when it goes back it starts with a lower level of electricution until slowly it becomes stronger and it reaches the max level then it flees away for a while. Then the same rhythm of electricution massage happens for the next 5 minutes. For the last 10 minutes of the treatment the electricution massage becomes like a chopping motion, its the same feeling when you a hand is doing a chopping motion on your body. You will know when the treatment is over when the machine turns off. The lady attendant went back to the room and remove the the harness strap and connector pads from my body.

Actually, I've already done this treatment  3 times already. On the 2nd Treatment, there was a great improvement on my thighs. After a few days undergoing the 2nd treatment my thighs became much smaller compared than it was before. I was really scared looking at my thighs in the mirror because it really was so huge for me. The great improvement was noticeable whenever I wear my tight slacks. It's now not so tight on the thigh area. On some slacks the thigh area became more loose. But keep in mind when I did this treatment, I was also doing Weights Training, Cardio Exercises and I was following the 1200 calories balanced diet that my Nutritionist recommended me to follow. This treatment enhances the metabolism on those targeted areas. For the longest time of having a huge thighs its one of the biggest breakthrough in making my thighs little bit smaller.

Slimmers Biometrics Program - Assessment

Last Nov. 12, 2012 (Monday), I had my first assessment with Slimmers World. When I came to the gym, I was asked by Ms. Gigi to fill up a form that asks for my Medical History. Afterwards, their in house doctor did a quick check up on me if my body can tolerate the exercise program that they will be giving me. Next step is I was asked to photographed for my ID which will be given to me in a week's time.

Last Step...
The last step was the PT's assessment. The PT assigned took my weight then my vital stats. Then he did the stress test which tested my flexibility and endurance level. Before we started with the flexibility test, he asked me to do the stretching which I could easily follow through the pictures that they have on the stretching area and counted to 15 for every body part stretched. The next part is I was asked to do the sit and reach and he measured how much is the furthest that I could reach. So far it was good. Next was he asked me to reach arms from the back. It was fair. There were other stretching position that he asked me to do. Then he gave me 1 minute to do as many sit-up as I can. Amazingly, I was able to do 80 sit-ups. Then he gave me another minute to do as many half push-ups. This is where I struggled, I was only able to do 43 and not in full form for the last 13 counts. Then the last test was to check my heart rate before I do the cardio workout. He checked on my pulse rate and its 103 counts. Which is a little higher than the normal rate of 60-80 counts. Then he gave me 3 minutes to do go up and down on the stepper without stopping. After the step test he counted my pulse rate again and it was 176 counts. Which is pretty normal. After a minute of resting, he counted my pulse rate. It went down to 116 counts. My recovery is pretty normal. The last step was to do the Cardio Workout for my remaining 20 minutes. He was supposed to assign me on the Treadmill but I asked him if I could do the Cross Trainer instead. I wasn't really a fan of Treadmill. At the end of my session, Ms. Gigi asked me how did I find the workout. I told her that it was refreshing. It feels good.

Good night rest...
That night I was able to sleep soundly because I got so tired after the workout. I feel rejuvenated the next day. I can't wait for my next workout. =)

Slimmers Biometrics Program Enrolment

The last straw....

Last Nov. 10, 2012, I finally took the courage to do the Blood Chemistry to get my Cholesterol Level and Sugar level. The good news is my sugar level is fine. Whew! The bad news is my Cholesterol Level is now 310. My brain has been wracking what I should do. Last year, I took Rustor for 1 year make this go down on the normal level. But now my Cholesterol Level went up again. I had a checkup with my OB on the same day. She advised me to loose weight and go back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I used to be 110 lbs with a height of 4'11''. But now I'm 150 lbs. I'm 40 lbs heavier than I used to be 6 yrs ago.

The inquiry...
After doing all those checkup, I decided to pass by Slimmers Festival Mall. I know that they have a holistic approach in managing weight loss safely and permanently. Its called the Biometrics Program. It's a program that includes workout, Personal Training, Proper Nutrition and other treatments like the Wrap (similar with FMS of Marie France) and other slimming treatments that would hasten the weight loss. I guarantees the customer that he/she will lose the agreed number of pounds. If they don't keep up with their promise their gonna give back my money. I spoke to Ms. Gigi Afos. She explained to me what is included in the package and for how long will it take for me to lose 40 lbs. The agreement is I have to go to the gym at least 3x a week for the program to be effective. Her estimate is around 5.5 months I'll be achieving my target goal. I've already heard about this program around last year. But I didn't took the plunge in enrolling because at that time I'm still tied up with Fitness First. The quote that the consultant in Slimmers Makati gave is 66K. For me, its too much to spend just for the sake of losing weight.  But now, its a different story. Do I take the plunge or not?

The Plunge....
When the Ms. Gigi told me that the cost of the treatment is only 34K, I was shocked. I never knew that it could go down as low as that amount. It's almost the same cost as with the Samsung Galaxy Note II. But this is a much better deal. It's like I'm investing for a better and longer life at a cheap price. The fact is the investment does not depreciate. Without any second thoughts, I enrolled immediately on the program. I saw several benefits if I enrolled on the program ASAP:
1. I am guaranteed to have my 110 lbs body back.
2. I will have a healthier and longer life to live for my kids and my husband.
3. I will be forced to go to office earlier so that I could workout earlier and go home earlier.
4. It will give back the confidence that I lost.

The Excitement...
I'm soo EXCITED! I could finally fulfill my dream again of wearing clothes that would show of my body curves. This coming summer, I won't be ashamed to wear a bikini. Hello to beach babe body again!

New morning health habit

More than 2 months ago I stopped going to the gym. During December 2011 I've been busy with a lot of Christmas Activities like the Chorale Competition. Last Jan 2012, I was supposed to go back to the gym when my mother-in-law accidentally broke her ankle which left us to take over most of her household chores every morning. Last Jan 25, 2012, we bought an SMDC Green Residence 1 Bedroom Unit in La Salle Taft. Which left me the option of giving up my gym membership last Jan. 30, 2011 in Fitness First to accomodate the investment expense for the condo and it would free up my morning shift in doing household chores.

The whole month of Feb. 2012 I was busy doing the morning cooking and sometimes cleaning. But I was contemplating of starting a new health habit after my cooking tasks. This morning I finally decided to try brisk walking in the park (Bulwagan) in our Village. I did 25 rounds and 10 rounds were dedicated to fast paced walking. I didn't start jogging or running because of my Bronchial Asthma Meds. I'm still feeling the side effects of vomiting and drowsiness. But I know that this is a good start. Hopefully, I'll be able to do 50 rounds including the jog and brisk walking.

My very first goal right now is to incorporate this new healthy habit everyday. =)

Lost 0.5 kg of Fat!

Today I had my weigh in and my findings 2 days ago were confirmed. I've finally lost 0.5 kgs of Fat. Yes! I just have to keep on doing my diet. I only eat rice once a day and workout 3 times a week. I didn't have to go to the gym everyday. At least I have a balanced life right now. I'm so happy. =D

Finally broken the 64 kg mark!

After a month long of weight loss training with Roxy, my hard work finally paid off. I just weighed in this morning and I was surprised that I was only weighing 64.8kgs (142.9 lbs). I was so happy! I've been trying to break free from the 65 kgs mark but no amount of dieting was getting me anymore. So it really does help in fat loss process when I started building muscle to help me build up my metabolism and cutting my rice intake. At least everything is going smooth. Slow and steady that's best way to lose the fat permanently.

More reps and more weight

Today I've decided to add more weight than the usual weights that I've been using for the past couple of workouts and I also added 5 reps each exercise. The exercise that I did still made me sweat a lot and I feel more satisfied with the routines that I did. The plank for 1 minute is a lot easier for me than when I did it for the first time again in the past 2 weeks. I think I need to add challenge in doing this exercise. Probably I need to add a few more seconds.

For my diet, I'm going to try the 14 day challenge of Nestle Fitnesse. I'm going to replace my breakfast and dinner by eating this cereal for 14 days. I will eat rice only once a day. I will continue to avoid softdrinks and Iced tea. I'm still having 3 small cups of coffee in a day. However, in the coming weeks I need to replace 1 cup with all black coffee with sugar.

One step at a time. Tomorrow, I'm still thinking of working out or not. Good luck to me. Aja!
